My book blog, Succotash Reviews, has been around for awhile, as well as the companion cookbook review blog, Cookbook Papers. The book blog was started first, and I’ve worked directly with both indie and big publishers and self-published authors. I’m a member of NetGalley and Edelweiss+. There were just so many cookbook reviews that I started putting the full reviews on a separate blog. Specialty cookbooks get published here while all cookbooks get a spot on the cookbook site. It just helps me to organize it all.
I have over 1,000 cookbooks in my personal library. I’m currently putting all the titles up on LibraryThing. Inputting, categorizing, and organizing all the cookbooks by theme and region has been a continuous on-off hobby of mine for years. I’m really picky about the volumes I collect now (I love the ’50s and anything before that) and I’m always on the lookout for that one book I’m always looking for (ask me a different day and I’ll probably give you a different answer lol). I’d love to put up a review for all the cookbooks I have, but for now I’m content to just sit and read them when I’m feeling a little low. Books never fail to lift me, and books on food always bring me to higher spirits.
