Copy Me That App: Recipe Manager and Menu Planner

Copy Me That is an app for the phone, a desktop web-based recipe program, and an overall great way to keep and store recipes you find on websites no matter where you’re finding them on the internet. It’s lightweight, easy to configure, and best of all, the Copy Me That free version is fully functional.

I think my favorite part is that it’s web based. Meaning all the recipes are readily accessible from the desktop once I log in, and any saves from either portal (desktop or phone) is automatically found on the other. Other great features are the shopping list and the menu planner.

Copy Me That – Highlights:

  • Your recipes can be set to private or to public. And you can change the setting to any recipe back and forth as you like. For example, you can set all your recipes to private, but check those recipes you’d like to share and which are visible through your profile. And if you have a public profile and set all your recipes to public, then you have the option to set any recipe to private you wish.

  • You don’t need to set up a public profile if you don’t want to. In the profile settings, just don’t enter a public name. You don’t need a profile to use this program.
  • If you have a website or a blog with recipes, you can prevent those recipes from being shared. Also, any shared recipes or recipes from other blogs that are viewable via your profile will have the directions omitted so new viewers will need to click through to your site to get them. Just contact
  • When you’re working on a recipe from the app, you have the option to keep the app open (infinity mode) so that the phone never goes off – it never sleeps as you’re cooking. Love this option.

Once you install the app, it is easy to save a recipe to your files. On Safari, click the action menu (the little center box with the arrow sticking straight up), then click the Copy Me That icon. You’ll get a confirmation that it’s been copied, and if you click ‘View in app’ then you’ll have the opportunity to edit the recipe as needed.
